Mandalorian S2 - Misc Creatures and Props

Here's a handful of bits and bobs from several of the episodes in S2 of Mandalorian!
This is such a great universe to texture paint in, Nearly everything is dirty, leaky, grungy! For many of these assets I was given a lot of creative freedom. When we had concepts they were often gestural and loose, and the name of the game was make it cool and do it quickly :) Since we were a small team working on this show, it made this work really fun!

I painted the fishing vessel, this was essentially a CG set extension. The characters and the center pit/floor was all plate, and everything around it was replaced.

In the scene following shortly after. I was responsible for the paint and preliminary lookdev on the water creature, and Grogu's bassinette. There were more shots of the creature originally and thus I had painted his entire body. Unfortunately the majority of it's shots were cut so we only really see its "face". The bassinette was a one to one match of the practical version. This required a full round of projecting photos to get the placement of all those paint chips

Next, I painted Grogu's little bowl, spoon, and the funny little creature he finds in his soup. This little guy was really cute, kind of a mix between a parrot and an octopus.

Lastly I created the textures and the preliminary lookdev pass on the flower tentacle creature they find in their ship. This was an odd little creature and I was given a lot of freedom to explore his look and come up with markings that felt appropriate.

Lastly, I painted Cobb Vanth's digital double. Cobb uses Boba Fette's armor, and though digi doubles tend to be a drag, this one was sooo much fun as it was the first look at Boba's armor in the SW universe in quite some time.
